Bill,

Thank you so much for the kind words.  It's so disheartening to hear that "reviewers" weren't giving your film the attention it deserves.  I enjoyed it immensely and have watched it quite a few times.  It is safe to say that it is superior to "Saw" in nearly every feasible way.

I find it sad that films such as the Saw franchise are glorified nowadays while gems like "Little Corey Gorey" can go unnoticed by the mainstream.  In many ways, I think that Hollywood thinks little of its audience and caters to those with low attention spans.  When a movie such as yours demands more from its audience than a fictionalized "Faces of Death," it is ignored.  The characters within "Little Corey Gorey" were created with depth that ensured the viewers would care about the eventual outcome.  The pace is perfect and though light-hearted at times, the film never loses the momentum or flow created within the opening sequences.

Now sadly horror has become a one stop shop with a wham-bam-thank you ma'am philosophy.  Movies today are often all gore and the blood pours freely before the characters are even introduced.

I thank you for rising above that nonsense and creating a film that is not only worthwhile but worth watching again and again.  If you have any other productions you would like reviewed please feel free to contact me, and I'll provide an honest assessment as I did with "Little Corey Gorey."

My brother is currently filming his fourth movie.  I completely understand the labor of love that is involved with unpaid actors, and in the case of "Little Corey Gorey"  the dedication of your cast shines through the film.

Sincerely,

Melissa McGahee

thanks

Melissa,
Thanks for the good review.  Most reviewers just compare Corey to movies like Saw or Halloween and label Corey the worst.  Thanks for taking the time to see that Corey is not a horror movie, but is social commentary with a bit of drama and comedy.  And I know my excellent but never paid cast appreciate your remarks.  Keep up the good work.  I give your review a 10/10!
bill

I'll definitely have Geno add the link this weekend.  He has a rough few days with filming/work but he'll put it up there.  Also, he has made money on both Netflix and Amazon.  I don't handle the financial aspect of it but from the little understanding I have, Netflix pays you two-fold.  They pay for the films to order and also they pay additionally if they put it on that automatic viewing.  Geno made a bit there but I think he made the majority off of Amazon.  IF I have it right, I think he makes $5 per film sold but don't quote me on that.  I stay as far away from the accounting as possible.

I'm not sure who you are going through for distribution but currently Geno goes through Tempe.  I know Geno had contacted several different companies before deciding on Tempe because their financial deal was better than all others offered.  They've been awesome and really helped him get on the map.  They were the ones to open the doors of Amazon, Netflix and many other smaller retailers.  If you wanted to speak with them, you could email my brother at genobambino69@yahoo.com and he'll assist in every way possible.  He was also a big fan of "Little Corey Gorey."

It was very interesting to learn that the characters in the film were based slightly on people in your life.  The current production my brother is working on is loosely based on family members.  I think the process is a very therapeutic one for my brother and the results thus far have been magnificent.  It seems that the best work emerges when film makers pull close to home and display aspects of their life for the world to see.

When your new film is about to be released/distributed if you would like, I would love to do an interview (either over the phone or via email whichever is best for you) discussing both productions and any future projects.

It is film makers such as yourself that give me hope for the future of movies, so if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Melissa McGahee
